A grand start: Two hole-in-Ones dazzle the UBS Silver Pro-Am Tournament
02.09.2024
Two impressive feats marked the start of the week at the Omega European Masters, with the UBS Silver Pro-Am traditionally kicking off the festivities. In this format, where amateur and professional golfers team up, 36 teams competed on a flawlessly prepared course this Monday, ready to host the upcoming events.
Despite the expertise of the professionals, it was the amateur players who stole the show today.
“It was incredible to see the ball roll and end up directly in the hole. It was undeniably a hole-in-one!” enthuses local player Mégane Silletti.
Both Mégane Silietti and Johannes Vogt from the canton of Grisons achieved this rare feat, respectively on holes 8 and 11 of the Severiano Ballesteros course.
The winning team, consisting of Mégane Silietti, professional David Ravetto, and golfers William Martinetti and Olivier Gaillard, triumphed in a closely contested competition, demonstrating strong team cohesion. “It was my first hole-in-one, and I’m so thrilled it happened today! It’s an indescribable feeling, and everyone was thrilled for me, including our professional who was over the moon. It was truly amazing!” says Mégane Silietti.
Swiss golfer Ronan Kleu, along with François Biéler, Florent Salamin, and Alex-Joseph Barras, secured second place, followed by Alexander Björk’s team (SWE) and his teammates Andrew Fitzmaurice, Christophe-Xavier Clivaz, and Georges Ganthous.
