The juniors in contact with the pros
27.08.2022
On Saturday, Switzerland's top juniors had the opportunity to experience an exceptional moment. In the third round of the Omega European Tour, they competed against the top-ranked professionals of the 2022 edition. The 22 top-ranked juniors in the Swiss Golf U14-U16 medal order took part in "Beat the Pro". They had to beat three professionals on the first shot of hole 8, a 160-metre par 3. In concrete terms, this means that the pros involved in the flight hit their first shot and then give way to a junior. Everyone goes to the green together to see which ball is closest to the hole. The junior stops at this point, while the pros try to get their putt in. The last twenty-two games of the day were involved in this contest. Due to the stoppage of the second round of competition on Friday evening, the pros left Saturday morning from holes 1 and 10. The top 11 juniors faced the players who started on hole 1 and the next 11 faced the pros who started on hole 10.
Beat the Pro" is supported by "Supporting Golf". Swiss Golf, the Swiss Association of Independent Golfers (ASGI) and Migros GolfCard are united under this common slogan. "Supporting Golf provides financial support for activities and projects to promote golf in golf in Switzerland.
