The OMEGA European Masters in new podcast on Swiss Top Events
04.11.2024
Switzerland Tourism (ST) and the association “Swiss Top Events” (STE) are working together to launch a new podcast series that will present Switzerland as a holiday and travel destination in a surprising way.
In collaboration with award-winning podcaster Jack Boswell, exciting stories will be told around world-famous Swiss events: such as the Art Basel art fair in Basel, the Montreux Jazz Festival and the White Turf horse-racing event in St. Moritz. The new podcast “Views from the Top” also presents the OMEGA European Masters and is available to listen to worldwide starting now.
Podcasts are no longer just a trend, but have rather become an important part of modern communication. They offer a unique platform on which to emotionally engage audiences and provide deeper insights. ST and STE are making the most of this opportunity to address international podcast fans and event enthusiasts
directly. With this podcast, not only will they be able to reach the existing audience for these events, but also new, travel-savvy communities worldwide.
A showcase of top events
The events presented will include international highlights such as the Art Basel art fair in Basel, the Montreux Jazz Festival, the Lauberhorn ski races, the Omega European Masters in Crans-Montana, the Locarno Film Festival, the Lucerne Festival, the Weltklasse Zürich world-class track and field meeting, the Spengler Cup ice hockey tournament in Davos and the White Turf horse-racing event in St. Moritz. These events radiate far beyond the country’s borders and make Switzerland known worldwide as a travel destination. “Our different communities are spread all across the globe, and the appeal of our events is almost limitless,” emphasise STE co-Presidents Raphaël Brunschwig and Christoph Joho. The new podcast episodes allow for a look – or rather listen – behind the scenes of these top events and create a strong emotional bond with listeners through captivating storytelling. André Hefti, Chief Marketing Officer of ST, explains the added value for tourism promotion: “We want to use inspiring stories to encourage travel among discerning and affluent target groups who already have an affinity for Switzerland.”
Showcase for the OMEGA European Masters
With an episode devoted to the OMEGA European Masters, the new podcast also focuses on the big sporting stage. The spotlight is not only on the professional golfers and their surroundings, but also on members of the public, volunteers and committee members who work passionately to make this tournament outstanding. They provide a surprising and interesting glimpse into a major event of international importance.
“We invite the public who have listened to the podcast to come and discover Crans-Montana, its region and its golf competition. They will be able to experience the magical atmosphere of the Omega European Masters,” says Yves Mittaz, Tournament Director.
Jack Boswell as host
Award-winning British podcaster Jack Boswell, known for his travel and event formats, has been chosen to host “Views from the Top”. Each episode is dedicated to one of the events and highlights lesser-known, inspiring and entertaining aspects. Boswell speaks with the people behind the events and shows what it is that makes these events a global success. “I’m really looking forward to the launch. Our listeners can look forward to exciting personalities, surprising stories and unconventional insights – it’s going to be absolutely captivating!” says Boswell.
The first season of “Views from the Top” will comprise nine episodes, in English and with each lasting 20 to 25 minutes, which are to be released in three blocks – of three new episodes every week. This staggered frequency will enable the public to discover Switzerland and its top events in stages. A decision regarding the continuation of the series will be made in December.
