About
Golf has always been part of the history of the resort of Crans-Montana. The course, built in 1906 and the tournament, with its first edition in 1939, have largely contributed to the development of the resort.
In order to maintain and develop the practice of this sport and to perpetuate the organization of the tournament, it was decided to create a Foundation, recognized of public utility.
It will bear the name of Gaston-F. Barras, long time President of the Golf-Club and the tournament, instigator of the development of golf on the Haut-Plateau and initiator of the organization of an international golf tournament, as well as the name “European Masters“, one of the most spectacular tournaments in the world.
The Gaston-F. Barras – European Masters Foundation aims to collect donations which will mainly be dedicated to the development of golf in the resort.
The list of people who have generously donated will be available on the Omega European Masters website and also on the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club website as well as in the official tournament guide.
Listed below are the Supporting Clubs that you can sign up for.
The Gaston F.-Barras – European Masters Foundation has for nonlucrative purpose to ensure the development of golf on the High Plateau of Crans-Montana in all possible ways and in the broadest sense (help in the organization of golf events; the carrying out of works to improve the golf infrastructure – course and facilities; the purchase and availability of fields for the golf course; supporting the best young golfers; promoting golf in all its aspects).
