Dean Burmester knows how to win

The South African Dean Burmester is leading the Omega European Master 2021 after the first half of the competition. He’s already proved himself capable to end up first, even after four rounds.

Born in Zimbabwe, the 32-years-old is not a youngster anymore. On the flipside, he has acquired the experience of many successful moments on the Walliser Haut-Plateau. These might lead him to the most important triumph of his career this far.

Before playing himself to the mainstage of the PGA European Tour, he had already won six tournaments on the South African Sunshine Tour that he knows so well. Then, in March of 2017, he won the Tshwane Open in Waterkloof in South Africa, that belongs to the Sunshine Tour, as well as to the European Tour. Burmester won with an advantage of three strokes. The last tournament in Europe itself, he won at the beginning of the month of May of this year at the Tenerife Open. He effortlessly mastered the Canari course with 259 strokes, 25 under par, as well as with a 62 and a 63 round. Thanks to other good results all throughout the season, he earned his spot in the top 25 of the Race to Dubai, a testimony of his great performances.

Burmesters experience on the four major tournaments isn’t very impressive yet. Nevertheless, he managed to make his way to the weekend on three of his four appearances.

If Dean Burmester were to be put on the Omega European Masters winner’s red jacket on Sunday afternoon, it wouldn’t be too big of a surprise.
