The competition that everyone wants to participate
A golf course prepared to the perfection, professional golfers are already very concentrated and amateurs are over the moon. The Credit Suisse Gold Pro-Am competition was perfect.
The Wednesday during the week of the Omega European Masters is traditionally reserved for Credit Suisse Gold Pro-Am. This prestigious competition allows 156 amateurs to play with 52 professional golfers and is usually a huge success. "Throughout this edition, there were lots of top European professionals. Our customers are very satisfied to be here and to be able to play amongst the best players", says Thomas Gottstein CEO Credit Suisse (Switzerland) SA. The host of the day, a brilliant golfer holding a handicap of 0.7, participated in the Gold Pro-Am in the team with Martin Kaymer. "I was impressed by his game and he is very friendly and open. I also found that the course was even better than usually."
Ernesto Bertarelli was also competing today, along with 22-year-old Indian pro, Sharma Shubankar. "I'm happy to have played with a youngster. I will be able to follow him throughout his career. I found the course extraordinary and I want to congratulate the greenkeeper for his work. It had been a long time since I had come here. The changes to the golf course are very beautiful, world class". Mr. Alinghi normally spent his summer on Lake Geneva. He plays golf during the spring and autumn. "I'm not a golf course guy. I mostly hit balls at the driving range. At the range today, I was not in top form. Due to back problems, I could not train much. With a handicap of 4.1, I need at least two intensive weeks before I can play at my best level. "
