Henrik Stenson and Miguel Ángel Jiménez confirm their participation in the Omega European Masters 2021!
After the null and void year of 2020, the organizers of the tournament are pleased to announce the confirmation of the iconic Swedish player Henrik Stenson and the charismatic Spanish player Miguel Ángel Jiménez.
Henrik Stenson, who enjoyed his hours of glory at the Open Championship in 2016 after an epic victory over Phil Mickelson, returns to the Haut-Plateau after 9 years of absence. His record includes a first renowned victory at the Players' Championship in 2009, several more victories in his auspicious year of 2013 which propelled him to third place in the world, a silver medal at the Brazilian Olympic Games in 2016 and success in the United States at the Wyndham Championship in 2017. Henrik has topped the European ranking on two occasions, in 2013 and 2016, and has played 5 times as part of the Ryder Cup team.
With such a track record, the 45-year-old Swedish player promises to offer the tournament spectators a great show.
Miguel Ángel Jiménez, meanwhile, proves that he is still, at 57, a force to be reckoned with. He has already broken several longevity records inlcuding participation in more than 700 European Tour tournaments and oldest player to have won a tournament in Europe. Throughout his rich career, he has claimed 21 victories on the European Tour.
Winner in 2010 of the Omega European Masters, he confirms his 31st participation in the tournament. Over time, he has forged a special relationship with the Crans-Montana crowd who appreciate everything about him. Always hungry for competition, he will undoubtedly be motivated to give it his best shot on the Severiano Ballesteros course.
