Germanier wines and golf, a perfect match
For the first time, the Domaine Germanier is one of the partners of the Omega European Masters.
"I had been in contact with Yves Mittaz for five years. A spot had become available, so I took the opportunity. When I saw the structure of the site at the Village Mont-Blanc, I immediately suggested to team up with Valais/Wallis and its House of Valais, to create a large stand. It made sense to unite raclette and wine," says Gilles Besse, associate oenologist at Germanier.
Bottles "Rouge de Terre", "Rose des Vents" and "Blanc de Mer" are served at the main bar, the central point of the stand. Unique labels have been designed for the event. "We produce premium wines that are perfectly in line with the demands of golfers, always looking for quality. Our presence in Crans-Montana is a real marketing opportunity. We have also invited about fifty customers," continues Gilles Besse. Not unfamiliar to the world of sport, since he has already experienced a similar adventure with Alinghi.
The Domaine is located in the hamlet of Balavaud, in the commune of Vétroz (VS), since 1896. Today, the third and fourth generations - Jean-René Germanier and his nephew Gilles Besse, both oenologists – preserve the family tradition of wine and spirits.
