Englishman Chris Wood and Northern Irish player Darren Clarke will be competing in Crans Montana in 3 weeks!

Englishman Chris Wood, 7th on the European Tour, and Northern Irish player Darren Clarke, Ryder Cup captain, have both confirmed their attendance at the 70th Omega European Masters.

With less than a month to go before the start of the 2016 Omega European Masters, two new players have confirmed their attendance at this historic tournament at Golf-Club Crans-sur-Sierre in Crans-Montana.

28 year old player Chris Wood, who currently lies 7th on the European Tour and winner of the recent BMW PGA Championship, will participate in the Omega European Masters for the 6th time during this landmark year –the tournament’s 70th anniversary at the Crans-Montana course. Having already won in Qatar in 2013 and again in Austria in 2015, his victory on the Wentworth course in the UK in May has provisionally opened the door to the famous Ryder Cup.

The European Ryder Cup team will be managed by Darren Clarke, who has also announced that he will be returning to compete at the tournament this year. This will be the 17th time he has participated in the Omega European Masters.

Starring alongside these 2 great players will be Englishmen Danny Willett, No.1 on the European Tour, No. 9 Lee Westwood, No. 20 Matthew Fitzpatrick, the young American professional Bryson DeChambeau as well as the charismatic Spaniard, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, who has been shining on the Champions Tour in the United States since the start of the year.
