Danny Willett only danced for two summers
The Englishman is one of three players at this year's Omega European Masters who has previously won major tournaments.
During the 2015th & 2016th seasons, everything went well for Danny Willett. In July 2015, he opened the “Sheffield Festival” in Crans-Montana. His younger city rival and buddy Matthew Fitzpatrick followed him by winning the tournament two years later. In April 2016, Willett won the US Masters in Augusta, a tournament that many consider to be the most prestigious in the world.
Unfortunately for the 30-year-old Englishman, he couldn't surf on this wave. He failed to win a series of victories at the US PGA or the European Tour tournaments. Even the top ten places were not frequent for Dany Willett. On the other hand, he was often eliminated during the cut. As a result, this year he was not considered for the selection of the Ryder Cup. And since Augusta's triumph, he has never made into the top 20 in ten major tournaments.
In a sport as demanding as golf, it sometimes takes little for a player to get out of the game and it takes time to find the step again. Perhaps Danny Willett will be able to regain his confidence during his stay in Crans-Montana. After all, he has some of the best memories of his career at the Omega European Masters.
