Cancellation of the Omega European Masters 2020
At the Press conference that was held on 29 April by the Swiss Federal Council regarding the Covid-19, it was decided to cancel the organization of all major events until 31 August 2020. The Omega European Masters, which should have been held from 27-30 August, will therefore not take place this year.
For the tournament, whose first edition took place in 1939, this is the first cancellation since World War II!
Thanks to the support of the public authorities, the “Loterie Romande” as well as Swiss Golf, which have all confirmed the payment of their annual fee, the financial loss for the 2020 year will be limited.
This cancellation does not call into question the organization of the tournament’s future editions, which benefits from healthy finances and the unconditional support of loyal partners, most of whose contracts are still valid for the coming years.
As the 2021 European Tour schedule is not yet confirmed, we will not fail to inform you of the 2021 tournament dates as soon as they are official.
Finally, a bit of good news for golfers - the season will be able to start and the courses in Crans-Montana will open on 11 May!
We are already looking forward to seeing you again in 2021 and promise you an edition full of emotion and entertainment!
