It all hit me after I chipped in. I was trying to keep my composure all day and putts weren't dropping early and then the back nine was such a grind for myself. The year has not gone that great for me, it has been a trying year and the emotions just flowed at the end. I don't know how I would have recomposed myself if Phillip had chipped in after me as the emotions were flying then and there. All credit to Phillip who played great today. I played really nicely, kept the ball in play, All year my bad shots have been getting into too much trouble but today I kept it in play. I kept my composure all week from the first round when I was in contention. Mentally it is tough when you are in or around the lead and I am proud of myself for hanging in there and the way I played after the year I have had. How is the driving? It is getting better. I was getting tight coming home and hit a couple of bad drives on 14 and 15 but that is part of the pressure we have to deal with. I just kept it in play and that was a huge key this week. This opens up a lot for you - in next week, the HSBC Champjons? This turns everything around. No matter what kind of year you are having, you win once and it is a great year. You play for the joy of winning. That is what I want to feel, what I play for and it gets pretty frustrating when you are at the opposite end of the spectrum. But you never know when the next tournament victory will come. Tiger Woods and a few other players might be exempt from that comment but you win one a year and you have an unbelievable year and not knowing when the win will come from makes it more special. Did you expect to kick on from the Irish Open win? My whole career I have driven the ball poorly and it is a case of getting consistency. Week in week out it is tough and this week I drove a lot better. I would have expected to kick in from the Irish Open but if you are not going to keep the ball in play, some courses might suit you but you are going to be tested all the time. Will Max be happy taking a week off? It is a shame he wasn't there to share the moment as he has been with me for the last two years. He is getting on a doesn't fancy the hilly golf courses which is fair enough but all credit to Brian who did a great job. Are you going home? When you haven't seen you fiancée for seven weeks you go and win a tournament and it keeps you away for another week. I need to phone her and it is her call. I am delighted to have got into next week's tournament, to have qualified for Volvo and all those are the cream on top of winning. Three months I have been away for and no-one knows what I have been through and it has been an emotional ride. Prior to this week I was fighting for me card and sacrifices I was making, not going home to see my fiancée was part of Tour life but now I have won has eased the pressure and kept my card. But now I have won I am thinking of just going home, seeing my family because they are the one's you share it with and mean the most. My fiancée is Sally Richards. I have been three months living out of a suitcase. She came out for the middle weeks as she is a teacher and had some time off. Did you have a feeling this could be your place? I played fantastic golf here last year and was looking at a top 5 and made a 10 on the 14th hole. Minus that one hole I could score well on this course. This is the kind of course that suits my game. At the start I wanted to play a solid week and secure my Tour card and here I am now. Third shot on the 17th? I hit the perfect two iron and it just ran into the rough. I hit a wedge and it went straight through the wind and rolled off the back edge into one of the worst possible lies. It is a fine line and I could have duffed it three feet in front of me or ran it 20 feet past. It was unlucky in the situation to get such a lie but I tried to improvise with a bladed nine iron. Hit it to six feet and thought I hit a good putt but disappointed I had to then try and birdie the last as I would have rather had that one shot cushion. For all the work I have put in it pays off in moments like that chip and it is up to you if you take it or not. Will this inspire Baddeley? I won the week after Badds won the Aussie Open, winning the TPC and it was the first time in history two amateurs had won back-to-back pro events. He is playing great and I hope he wins as well. Ends
